    Dear Students’ Union,

    Extremely grateful that I have been invited to participate in the competition of the ballroom dancing but I am sorry I may lose the golden chance to show off.

    I’ve got a tight schedule these days, for I have been preparing for the approaching mid-term exam. Besides, my roommate is injured in the leg while playing football and I have to spare some time to attend to him. So it’s unrealistic for me to carry out the dancing drill.

    Once again, sorry for any inconvenience caused and wish the activity a big hit.

    Once we began, I saw Paul not only have his chess skills refined but also show a change of mental state. He had excellent performance, employing an effective planning method that helped him come up with a good strategy in almost any position. A few minutes later, I was defeated/checkmated. Looking me in the eye, he swept a trembling hand over the board and said, “Before you came along, I’d had my life given up. But since I played with you, I’ve reconnected with old friends and made new ones. The chess club may have saved my life.”

    When I told Paul Grandpa’s custom about this chessboard and asked him to write his name on the back, he smiled and said, “No need.” He went on, “My Last name’s Ward. Paul Ward. It’s on the upper right-hand corner of the chessboard. Find it.” I flipped the chessboard over and there it was: Sergeant Paul Ward 6/10/44. What a coincidence! At that moment, Grandpa’s words flooded over me — “This fellow … carried me off the field.” Paul Ward was the very soldier who had saved my grandfather’s life. And now, years later, Grandpa’s love and passion for chess had returned the favor.     应用文评分标准

    本篇应用文要求考生完成一封道歉邮件,总体要求:

    1.本题总分为15分,按5个档次给分。

    2.评分时,先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次,然后以该档次的要求来衡量,确定或调整档次,最后给分主要内容和评分主要依据如下

    (1)感谢邀请(包括写信背景)—— 3分

    (2)不能参加的困难(理由)(一般不少于两点,过少没有说服力)。—— 7分

    (3)表示抱歉(可以增加活动成功举办的祝愿)。—— 2分

    (4)文章结构合理(三段为宜)、卷面清晰和书写工整 ——3分

    3.文章时态主要以现在时和完成时为主,通篇时态错误降低一个档次;如书写较差,以至影响交际,将分数降低一个档次。

    4.词数少于 60 和多于110 的,从总分中减去 2 分。

    5.评分时,应注意内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的数量和准确性、上下文的连贯性及语言的得体性。拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面,评分时,应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑。英、美拼写及词汇用法均可接受。

    各档次的给分范围和要求

    第五档( 1315分):能写明全部要点;语言基本无误;行文连贯,表达清楚;

    第四档( 1012分):能写明全部或绝大部分要点;语言有少量错误;行文不够连贯,表达基本清楚;

    第三档( 79分):能写明基本要点;语言虽有较多错误,但能基本达意;

    第二档( 46分):能写出部分要点;语言错误多,影响意思表达;

    读后续写解题指导与评分细则

    一、   原文故事回顾:

    这是一个温暖的心灵治愈故事。 多年前,我一直跟着祖父在一个破旧的棋盘上学习下棋,棋盘的背面有很多名字和日期。祖父告诉我,这些名字和日期都是第二次世界大战时与他在前线共生死的战友们留下的。祖父去世前将他特别珍惜的这个棋盘送给了我,希望我能传递这个棋盘所承载的友谊和爱。后来我去一家养老院做自愿者,发现老人们孤寂地生活着,他们失去生机,也没有感受幸福的动力,于是我决定用下棋为他们的生活注入活力。第一个来与我对弈的是一个叫Paul的老人。虽然输棋给我,但他每天都来下棋。不久,每天来公园下棋观棋的老人越来越多,养老院的老人们在棋的陪伴下走出了孤独,过上了有乐趣快乐的生活。

    三、   续写线索分析:

    在我的带领下,养老院越来越多的老人参加下棋的行列,印在石桌上的棋盘不够用,于是我决定带去祖父送给我的旧棋盘。我刚一摆好棋盘,Paul就注意到了,并过来要求与我再次一决胜负,续写从这里开始。

    四、第一段续写思路:

    第一段的首句Once we began, I saw Paul not only have his chess skills refined but also show a change of mental state. 提示可以从两个方面续写。 第一方面:Paul的下棋技术提高了。会下棋的学生此处可以写得细节一些,专业一些;不会下棋的同学表达出下棋技术提高即可。第二方面:经常来下棋的Paul的精神状态、心理状态发生改变。 对比原文中描绘养老院老人们的生活状态 “--- I observed elderly residents sitting alone silently, heads down.”, 还有描写   Paul的词汇“cautiously, weakly, hesitated, sighed”等,推断现在的Paul因为棋缘打开心扉,不再孤独寂寞。此处可以通过语言、动作,神态等描述,体现他改变后呈现的乐观生活状态。本试卷提供的参考范文是用Paul的语言说出自己的改变和重获新生的感慨。同学们也可以通过动作、神态等其他方式描述Paul下棋获胜后的兴奋和快乐,从中体现出老人现在积极快乐的生活态度。

    Paragraph1要点:

    五、第二段续写思路:

    第二段的首句When I told Paul Grandpa’s custom about this chessboard and asked him to write his name on the back, he smiled and said, “No need.” 提示首先可以写Paul解释为什么没有必要在棋盘上签名:自己就是Sergeant Paul Ward,名字已经在棋盘上了。此处可以结合表情,心理等描述(参考以上短语)。其次可以写我对于这个巧合的感动和感慨。祖父教我下棋,给我讲了战争中的救人故事,送棋盘给我,让我传递爱。 于Paul而言,祖父用他对棋的热爱点亮了Paul的黯淡余生,回报了Paul的救命之恩。祖父的棋盘在生命的延续中发挥了它传递爱的作用。

    Paragraph2 要点:

    1Paul解释“No need”的原因(如果写Paul提及战争中与Grandpa的往事也可以)

    六、读后续写评分标准细则:

    本题总分为25分,按5个档次给分,每个档次5分。

    评分时,综合考虑三方面(情节内容融合、语言正确、句与句衔接),先定档,再给分。一个档次内分数走高还是走低,考虑语言正确性和丰富性。逻辑流畅、语言丰富且正确,可以定位五档(21-25)。即使整篇文章以简单句为主,但内容完整融洽,语言准确流畅,完成了续写内容的起承转合,也可定四档(16-20分)。 读后续写的词数要求为至少120词,上限不作要求。如果抄袭卷面的阅读理解视为作弊行为,作文计0分。

    七、注意事项

    所给续写参考范文并非唯一答案,根据原文故事及续写两段所给首句,写出与原文融洽度高,符合逻辑的故事情节即可得分。

    Hello, volunteers! Thanks for coming to our group to learn about gardening and natural energy. Our Green Team organization teaches people to protect the earth and use it well. Most of you probably throw food waste in the garbage can, right? You could be using it as plant food instead of garbage! How many of you spend lots of money on fresh foods at the grocery store? You could be saving hundreds of dollars a year and eating more healthily! First, you need to grow a garden. It’s a great way to produce your own fruits and vegetables without paying for them at the supermarket. Plus, garden food is natural with no chemicals. Next, you can keep your garden growing with leftover food bits. Get a large box to keep in your backyard. Whenever you have fruit and vegetable leftovers, add them to the box — try to avoid meat, eggs and dairy items, because they attract animals. You can even add grass, leaves, and newspapers to your box! Over time all the things in the box will turn into a rich soil that you can use to grow your garden.
