Imagine that you're waking in the Arctic region (北极地区). You feel cold but there are no wood houses or cars around. Suddenly, you find some igloos built by the locals. You come into one and soon start to feel warm. But the question is: How can something made of cold snow make you feel warm?
We all know that in cold places, our bodies lose heat to the outside environment. Although an igloo looks very different from a blanket, they work similarly in some ways. A blanket keeps you warm not by producing any heat of its own, but by preventing your body from losing heat. The snow walls of an igloo act as a huge blanket: It protects you from the cold wind outside and keeps the heat from your body in its walls.
The igloo then uses this heat to control the temperature of its own space. The heat your body loses moves around the igloo and warms up some of the air inside it. Since cold air is heavier than warm air, the cold air falls to the bottom of the igloo. At the same time, the warm air moves towards the top. For this reason, igloos are usually divided into several layer(层) . The upper layer is where people sleep, because it's the warmest part. The middle layer is for cooking and making fire. The bottom floor acts as a space for storing food.
The key to a warm igloo also lies in choosing the right building materials. Compressed (压缩的) snow is the perfect choice because about 95 percent of it is made up of air. Since the air molecules (分子) are far separate, they take longer to pass on heat to each other. As a result, snow works well in helping prevent heat loss.
( ) 63. What does the underlined word “one” in Paragraph 1 refer to?
    A. A car. B. An igloo. C. The Arctic region. D. A wooden house.
( ) 64.Why does the writer compare igloos with blankets in Paragraph 2?
    A. Because igloos look like blankets.
    B. Because blankets can protect igloos.
    C. Because igloos and blankets play the same role.
    D. Because igloos and blankets are made of the same material.
( ) 65. Which picture shows the right layers of igloos?

( )66. What can we get from the passage?
    A. An igloo is made of stone and snow.
    B. People can cook and make fire in an igloo.
    C. People will not lose heat when they are in an igloo.
    D. Not all igloos can keep people warm.
( ) 67. What would be the best title for the passage?
    A. What Is in the Igloo? B. Where Can We Find an Igloo?
    C. Why Do We Stay in the Igloo? D. How Do Igloos Keep Us Warm?
    D
“I'll finish my homework before playing video games.” “Your dress looks beautiful.” “I won't spend all the money on snacks.” All lies! Most of us have told a lie at one time or another. However, scientists found that lying can harm your brain, It may stop you from doing other important tasks. When you tell the truth, your brain doesn't have to do any extra(额外的) work. But lying takes much more work.
Imagine you're late for class. The teacher asks why and you decide to lie. So you say, “ l picked up a book from the library.” Your teacher asks, “What's the name of the book?” Then you must decide how to answer the question.
If you say yes, the teacher might ask to see the book. So you might say, “No.” Now you have to think of a book title. You need to make sure it's a book the library actually has. See? When you lie, your brain works a lot more to keep the lie from falling apart.
You just gave your brain a lot of extra work. An area called the prefrontal cortex (前额皮质) does the work. It's the part in charge of short memory. That area also takes care of planning, problem-solving and self-control.
Using too much brain power(智力) to lie means there's less available for other things—like solving math problems. Lying is even harder for young people, The prefrontal cortex is not fully developed until age 25. So when young people are busy with lying, they'll have a harder time doing other things, like making study plans or eating a healthy diet.
So think twice before lying next time!
( ) 68. How does the writer start the passage?
A.By asking some questions. B. By giving some examples.
    C. By showing different opinions. D. By telling a story.
( ) 69.According to the passage, what happens to your brain when you lie?
    A. It has to do some extra work.
    B. It works more slowly.
    C. It can become much healthier.
    D. It becomes better at answering questions.
( ) 70.What does the prefrontal cortex help people do? Cheek and choose the right answer.
    ①Build long-term memories.②Make plans.③Work out problems.④Relax our brains.
    A.①② B.① ③ C.②③ D.②④
( ) 71.Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage?

    C.①//②//③④⑤⑥ D.①/②③④//⑤//⑥

One way to be smart with your money is to shop around before you buy, Visit more than one store, check the prices at each store, and try not to be in a hurry to buy. You do not have to buy at the first store you visit, another store might have what you want at a lower price. 74.__________ Another way is to wait for a sale. 75__________ For example, suppose you want to buy a camera and wait until a store has a sale. You can save 20 percent, 30 percent, or more on the price of the camera by waiting for a sale.
Some stores also offer a discount if you buy more than one item. So, look for sales offering a lower price per item if you buy two of that item. You could save money. 76__________ For instance, large bags of dog food usually cost less per pound than small bags cost. A large pack of pens usually costs less per pen than a small pack of pens. So, even though you may spend more on a large size, you are really saving money per item.
You can learn to be smart with you money. 77.__________ You cannot always have what you want right away. But if you are patient, you will save money. Then, you will have more money to spend on what you want.
