On July 28, I retired frm my psitin. After teaching fr many years, I lked frward t kayaking（划独木舟）with my grandsns, seeing friends and traveling fr leisure with my husband. But my bdy had ther plans fr me. A brken spine（脊椎）in my back tk me dwn a path that upended my plans.

Mr. Chen’s eyes mmentarily lst their tiredness as he thught f the cheerful times spent n the badmintn curt with Lei. Determined, Mr. Chen crafted a plan t carve ut tw hurs per weekend fr family bnding, starting with reestablishing their weekly badmintn games. Mr. Chen als decided t have mre pen cnversatins with Lei, discussing ways t handle academic pressures and the imprtance f maintaining a health y balance in life. As he awaited Lei’s return that night, Mr. Chen pictured their upcming game, nt just as a physical activity, but as a stepping stne t rebuild their relatinship, a chance t laugh, talk, and simply be tgether.
