    “Faster!” I screamed and in that instant, I felt like Superman. Julius was still ahead f me. My eyes nearly ppped ut f my head. The war cntinued but the finishing line was within reach. Using my last unce f energy, I raced past Julius! Fr the first time, I had passed the finishing line befre Julius! Drps f sweat rlled dwn my cheeks, mixing with the intense expressin n my face. This was nt just a race – it was a representatin f my willpwer, a prf f the depths f my reslve.
    “Yi Ru! Yi Ru! Yi Ru!” The whle schl was cheering my name! I std there excited. Julius, ut f breath, reached ut t shake my hand. “That was a brilliant race! I hpe that I can race with yu again.” Sn after, I cllapsed as everyne came t cngratulate me. They gave me warm pats n the back. I was s tired that all I managed t d was smile at them. “Thank yu fr all the supprt! It really was a challenge!”
    一、 评分原则
    1. 本题总分为 25 分,按五个档次进行评分。
    2. 评分时,主要从内容、语言表达和篇章结构三个方面考查,具体为:
    ( 1 ) 续写内容的质量、续写的完整性以及与原文情境的融洽度。
    ( 2 ) 所使用词汇和语法结构的准确性 、恰当性和多样性。
    ( 3 ) 上下文的衔接和全文的连贯性。
    3. 评分时,应先根据作答的整体情况确定其所属的档次,然后以该档次的要求来综合衡量,确定或调整档次,最后给分。
    4. 评分时还应注意:
    ( 1 ) 词数少于 120 的,酌情扣分。
    ( 2 ) 单词拼写和标点符号是写作规范的重要方面,评分时应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑,英美拼写及词汇用法均可接受。
    ( 3 ) 书写较差以致影响交际的,酌情扣分。

    W: Well, perhaps yu’d like t cme in fr an interview. Oh, just ne thing we didn’t mentin in the advertisement. Sme f ur bks are in Spanish, s we’d like t hire smene wh speaks Spanish.
    M: Oh, as a matter f fact, I d. I can als speak a little German and Chinese.
    W: Well, that’s impressive. We will call yu next week t cme fr an interview.

    W: Hi Phil. Did all that nise in the street wake yu up last night?
    M: N, it didn’t. I’m a deep sleeper. What happened, Jess?
    W: Well, I didn’t see it myself but I heard that it was an argument between tw car drivers and suppsedly it gt quite heated.
    M: Really? Wh tld yu abut it?
    W: Tara at number 42. It seems that bth drivers gt ut f their cars and started shuting at each ther. She says they almst started fighting.
    M: Hmm … well I’d think whether what Tara said was cmpletely true if I were yu.
    W: N, I believe her actually — peple d get very annyed by nt being able t pass each ther n this street.
    M: Did the cars make cntact?
    W: N … they were just cming in ppsite directins and they met where the street gets narrw and neither ne wuld mve backwards t let the ther pass. S they just stayed there, in the middle f the rad, with neither ne giving way.
    M: Hw childish.

    W: My guest tday is the nvelist Greg Field! Greg, were yu int bks and reading as a kid?
    M: Well, my parents were always n at me t read. They culdn’t understand why I didn’t like it much. One summer, thugh, I was in my grandma’s sitting rm and she had this whle pile f bks, which she let me play with because I liked the cvers. And I started leafing thrugh, and then maybe reading a wrd r tw, and then a page, and then that was it.
    W: And what abut at schl?
    M: Well, there was ne particular teacher wh at the end f every day wuld read bks t us. It was like music, like a film — these great pictures his vice stirred up in my mind and that’s when I knew I had t be a writer, s I culd make that happen t.
    W: S hw did it feel when yu eventually achieved that?
    M: Well, I was s scared when I was writing my first nvel — scared that nbdy wuld read it,
    r that I’d never finish it. I can’t tell yu what a relief it was t see it n the shelves in a
    bkshp. Then the next ne was, by cmparisn, a bit f a disappintment and it never
    sld as well.

    M: Hell, everyne. I hpe yu’re enjying yur first day. The university asked me t cme back and talk t yu as ne f yu, giving yu a student’s side f the stry.
    S with that in mind, I’d just like t say ne thing really, which is: get invlved in smething ther than yur curse as sn as yu can. I remember when I first came here t study histry, I had n idea f what jb I’d end up ding. But in my first year, I jined the university bradcasting sciety. I was interested in reprting. Then in my secnd year, I gt a hliday jb, helping ut as a researcher at the lcal radi statin, and really it all led n frm there, because first f all I was clear abut what I wanted t d — which was t wrk in bradcasting — and secndly, I had sme cntacts, which in this line f wrk is a key thing.
    S that’s really my message t yu tday. Dn’t delay, jin sme clubs and scieties and start develping yur interests. Thanks fr yur time.
