Is there any such thing as a “salt tth”? We are familiar with a sweet tth, and sugar cravings (热望), alng with the negative effects f them. A salt tth is quite unlike a sweet tth in that it desn’t create an appetite fr itself at the hrmne level. But the mre salt yu eat, the mre yu need t get the same satisfactin. This is why chefs can get heavy-handed with it.
As Sam Blm, a nutritinal therapist, explains, “With salt what is generally mre cncerning is the fat that is used tgether with it, like salty crisps, fries and fast fd. Ready meals are ften the wrst fr hidden salts. Anything that adds flavr that isn’t a herb will prbably have salt added t it and is likely t cause cravings... as its flavring makes yu want t cat mre. The salt and fat cmbinatin in these fds is what causes prblems with chlesterl(胆固醇).” She adds, “The salt that peple add t a meal is much less cncerning.”
Nutritinists’ suggestin is: “When a salt craving hits, avid ging straight fr salty snack fds such as crisps and instead ensure yu are well hydrated. The argument ver vide games has been nging fr decades. While sme argue that e-sprts require skill, there is disagreement ver whether they meet the standards f a traditinal sprt. Accrding t the dictinary, a sprt is a physical activity fr pleasure. While playing vide games requires skill and crdinatin(协调), it lacks the physicality assciated with traditinal sprts. Strategy is als present in bard games like chess r card games like slitaire, but these activities are nt classified as sprts. Similarly, playing a musical instrument requires practice and training, yet it is nt cnsidered a sprt.
Sprts require full-bdy mvements and crdinatin while vide games mainly invlve finger and hand mvements. Althugh it is pssible t include physical mvement while playing, it is nt a requirement fr success. Many e-sprts enthusiasts sit in frnt f their screens, filling themselves with snacks while cntrlling the game. Unlike traditinal sprts, which have been shwn t imprve well-being, t much vide gaming can lead t headaches and anger.
While e-sprts and cmpetitive gaming may be cmparable t activities like chess in terms f cmpetitin, they d nt pssess the physical effrt and health benefits assciated with traditinal sprts. Hwever, as the industry cntinues t develp, the idea f e-sprts is evlving. Studies have stressed the demanding mtr skills and reactin times required in e-sprts. Prfessr Ing Frbse cnducted a study that demnstrated the impressive mtr skills f e-sprts “athletes”, with up t 400 mvements per minute n the keybard and muse. The strategic aspect f e-sprts, including team planning, is als ften ignred. Games such as League f Legends, Dta 2, and Hnr f Kings have attracted large audiences and shwed the skills f players.
While sme argue against the classificatin(分类) f e-sprts as real sprts, evidence suggests that they pssess unique skills and abilities. As the industry grws, the understanding and recgnitin f e-sprts as a lawful cmpetitive activity are gradually changing.
    32. Why dn’t sme peple think f vide games as a sprt?
    A. They lack full-bdy mvements.B. They stress teamwrk mstly.
    C. They have n influence n health.D. They require n strategy and training.
    33. What will be a result f playing vide games t much accrding t the text?
    A. Better relatinship with friends.B. Bad perfrmance in study.
    C. Pr health cnditin.D. Lack f crdinatin.
    34. Which supprts the classificatin f c-sprts as real sprts?
    A. The fast develpment f traditinal sprts.
    B. The benefits fr health brught by vide gaming.
    C. The cmparisn f e-sprts t chess.
    D. The strategic aspect invlved in c-sprts.
    35. Which f the fllwing can be the best title fr the text?
    A. D e-sprts require teamwrk and skills?
    B. Shuld vide games be cnsidered a sprt?
    C. D e-sprts have negative effects n health?
    D. Shuld e-sprts players cncentrate mre when playing?

M: I dn’t feel like it. Summer is fr being lazy. I wrk hard all year at schl, and all I want t d in the summer is sit arund and relax.
    Text 6
W: There was a crazy crwd at the baseball game tday. Why was everyne s upset?
M: Well, the hme team played terribly, and mst f the fans paid a lt f mney t see that game.
W: I can understand that, but there were peple thrwing garbage nt the field and yelling at the players.
M: If yu think that’s bad, yu shuld g and watch a sccer match in England. Eurpeans are very aggressive during games. Fights ften break ut in the stands.
W: Really? Ww, that seems a little unnecessary. It’s just a game, after all.
M: I agree. I find it unfair t blame it n the athletes. They are all trying their best.
    W: Yu are quite right.
    Text 7
W: It’s ur father’s birthday tmrrw. Hw abut having a big dinner in the Chinese restaurant?
M: That restaurant is always full. I think we shuld prepare a dinner fr him at hme.
W: OK. Shall we ck him smething special? Hw abut Italian fd?
M: I dn’t think that’s a gd idea. D yu remember the last time we tk him t the Italian restaurant? He just ate very little. He said the fd was awful and nthing culd cmpare with French fd. Our father is very fnd f seafd.
W: I will drive and buy sme seafd after breakfast.
M: Great! Then I will g and buy him a birthday gift. I’ve tld Jack t buy a birthday cake n his way back hme tmrrw mrning.
    Text 8
M: What d yu usually eat fr breakfast?
W: I ften just grasp sme tast as I get up t late.
M: Oh, yu shuldn’t d like this any mre.
W: Yu are right! Recently, my head ften aches at night, s I decide t change my lifestyle.
M: Then what abut yur menu? Perhaps whle-wheat bread is a gd chice.
W: Yu knw, my mther wrks in a hspital. She always says that whle-wheat bead is gd fr ur stmachs, but my father really hates it due t its strange flavr.
M: Then why nt take cm r pumpkin instead?
W: Pumpkin is quite t my taste! And I can als use it t make sme pies fr my mther.
M: Maybe yu can als make sme ckies fr yur sister. Little girls are always fnd f them.
W: But t much sweet fd will d harm t her teeth. I guess I’ll get her sme crn.
    Text 9
    M: Why d yu lk s wrried?
W: Well, I have t plan a dinner fr my clleague Mary.
M: Where will yu have it?
W: That’s the prblem. My bss suggested that we g t the Italian restaurant near the ffice. But Mary lves Mexican fd.
M: Yu shuld take her smewhere that she will like.
W: The nly prblem is that the restaurant is far frm my ffice. D yu knw Juan’s Place?
M: Of curse. It’s near yur huse. Maybe yu culd have the dinner after wrk n Friday. That way, peple culd drive ver t the restaurant tgether.
W: That’s true. But traffic is always s awful n Fridays. It will take them at least frty-five minutes t get there, which is mre than a quarter lnger than usual.
M: Well, then why dn’t yu try t find a Mexican restaurant clser t yur ffice?
    W: That’s a great idea.
    Text 10
M: Well, I’m ging t talk abut my visit t the Aermuseum in Gthenburg in Sweden. It was really interesting and we all enjyed it. The museum is in sme undergrund shelters nt far frm a frmer airprt. Building the shelters was a huge prject. The wrk began in the 1940s and then cntinued in the 1950s. The guide tld us that they had t carve ut and mve tns f rck. And we fund ut later that n ne knew anything abut the existence f the shelters till the 1960s, when the wrk n creating the museum began.
Our guide tld us abut the pht displays which are abut pictures f the site cnstructin, and phts f the peple wh lived and wrked in the building ver the decades. I didn’t find that s interesting. The thing I really liked was watching peple hard at wrk repairing sme f the ld planes. We then mved int the radi rm, where a vlunteer tld us abut his wrk and ur visit came t a clse.
