设计说明

首先通过谈论病情及医生的建议导入新课。接着，利用图片学习本课节的词汇，并跟读练习。然后，通过听音回答问题“What’s wrong with Danny?”进入本课的学习；通过阅读回答问题、阅读判断正误、阅读找短语并翻译、阅读完成句子等一系列活动学习本课的对话，并四人一组表演对话来进一步巩固所学内容。最后，处理剩余的练习题，并利用Let’s Do It? No.4编写对话，提升学生的能力。本课节先通过词汇的教学为后面的学习扫清障碍，再由浅及深地展开对话的学习，最后，通过对话提升学生综合语言运用能力。

Step 1  Warming up

Have a free talk.

Show the picture of a baby to the class and say:

Look at the baby. What’s wrong with him?

Get the class to discuss it.

Then teacher says: He may be ill.

Teacher asks:

(1) What do you usually do when you feel ill?

  (See a doctor./Go to hospital./…) 

(2) What does the doctor usually advise you to do?

Show some pictures to the class and get the    

class to answer.

Step 2  Presentation  

1. Teach the new words stomach, pain, examination, pale and expressions regret doing sth., take an X-ray, get/have a (high) fever by using the pictures.

2. Read the new words following the recording, and read the expressions alone.

  Then remember them.

regret  v. & n. 惋惜；懊悔

fever  n. 发烧； 发热

pale  adj. 苍白的； 浅色的

Play the recording of the dialogue for the class to listen and answer the question.

What’s wrong with Danny?

Step 4  Reading

1. Get the class to read the dialogue and answer the following questions. (Let’s Do It! No. 1)

Step 7　Making up a dialogue

Work in pairs. Make up a dialogue. One person can be the doctor, and the other can be the patient. You can use the following expressions. Then check them.

 Sum up what we’ve learnt in this period with the class.
