Lesson 1: What’s Wrong, Danny?
设计说明 首先通过谈论病情及医生的建议导入新课。接着,利用图片学习本课节的词汇,并跟读练习。然后,通过听音回答问题“What’s wrong with Danny?”进入本课的学习;通过阅读回答问题、阅读判断正误、阅读找短语并翻译、阅读完成句子等一系列活动学习本课的对话,并四人一组表演对话来进一步巩固所学内容。最后,处理剩余的练习题,并利用Let’s Do It? No.4编写对话,提升学生的能力。本课节先通过词汇的教学为后面的学习扫清障碍,再由浅及深地展开对话的学习,最后,通过对话提升学生综合语言运用能力。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 掌握单词:stomach, regret, fever, pale, examination, pain, pardon, X-ray 接触单词:Sara 短语:regret doing..., get/have a (high) fever, get dressed, take an X-ray 2. 能力目标 (1)掌握表示病情的单词、短语和句子; (2)能用英语询问和描述病情。 3. 情感目标 养成健康饮食的好习惯。 重点难点 1. 重点:掌握表示病情的单词、短语和句子。 2. 难点:能用英语询问和描述病情。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up Have a free talk. Show the picture of a baby to the class and say:
Look at the baby. What’s wrong with him? Get the class to discuss it. Then teacher says: He may be ill. Teacher asks: (1) What do you usually do when you feel ill? (See a doctor./Go to hospital./…) (2) What does the doctor usually advise you to do? Show some pictures to the class and get the class to answer. see a doctor
Step 2 Presentation 1. Teach the new words stomach, pain, examination, pale and expressions regret doing sth., take an X-ray, get/have a (high) fever by using the pictures.
2. Read the new words following the recording, and read the expressions alone. Then remember them. stomach n. 胃; 腹部 regret v. & n. 惋惜;懊悔 fever n. 发烧; 发热 pale adj. 苍白的; 浅色的 Sara /'sɑːrə/ 莎拉(人名) examination n. 检查;考试 pain n. 疼痛 pardon /'pɑːdn/ v. & n. 原谅 X-ray n. X光;X射线 regret doing sth. 后悔做了某事 get/have a (high) fever 发(高)烧 take an X-ray 照X光片 get dressed 穿衣服 Step 3 Listening and answering Play the recording of the dialogue for the class to listen and answer the question. What’s wrong with Danny? Answer: Danny’s stomach hurts and he has a (high) fever. Step 4 Reading 1. Get the class to read the dialogue and answer the following questions. (Let’s Do It! No. 1) (1) Why does Danny wake up his parents early in the morning? (2) What does Danny regret doing? (3) How do they get to the hospital? (4) What does Dr. Ling ask Danny to do? Answers: (1) Because he doesn’t feel well. His stomach hurts. (2) He regrets eating so many donuts. (3) They drive to the hospital. (4) Dr. Ling asks Danny to stay in the hospital. 2. Get the class to read the dialogue and tell the sentences true (T) or false (F). (1) At three o’clock in the morning, Danny has got a pain in his stomach, so he wakes his parents up. ( ) (2) Mrs. Dinosaur thinks Danny ate so many donuts so his stomach hurts. ( ) (3) They go to the hospital by taxi. ( ) (4) Though it’s very late in the night, the hospital is still open. What’s wrong with the woman? □She has a high fever. □She has a cold. 2. Did the medicine help her get well? □Yes, it did. □No, it didn’t. 3. Step 7 Making up a dialogue Work in pairs. Make up a dialogue. One person can be the doctor, and the other can be the patient. You can use the following expressions. Then check them.
