    Period 4(Section B 2a-Self Check)设计说明  本课时2b的语篇为重点部分,语篇设计的情景不仅介绍了中国传统节日——端午节,还让学生了解到中西方不同的文化习俗,通过泛读、精读、学生讨论、连线、句子和短语翻译等不同的任务,让不同层次的学生的阅读能力都能得到提高;通过3a和3b的写作练习,进一步巩固对现在进行时的理解,让学生发扬长处、弥补不足,提高自己的能力。教学目标  1. 知识目标:  (1)掌握单词和短语:race,host,study,state,American,dragon,any,other,young,child(pl. children),miss,wish,delicious,still;the United States,Dragon Boat Festival,living room。  (2)读懂朱辉和两个家庭的故事,了解端午节习俗和东西方文化的差异。  (3)学习写一篇作文,介绍家人正在做的事情。  2. 能力目标:  (1)能够理解不同地域间的时间差异并准确表达时间。  (2)了解节日文化及习俗,并以此为载体学习相关的语言项目。  3. 情感目标:  学会与他人友好相处的同时,体验“独在异乡为异客,每逢佳节倍思亲”的情感。重点难点  1. 重点:  (1)进一步练习运用现在进行时谈论或描述他人正在做的事情。  (2)通过听、说、读、写的练习,提高学生语言的综合运用能力。  2. 难点:  运用所学词汇、时态结构等描述和谈论身边发生的事情。教学准备  多媒体课件,2b的音频文件。教学过程  Step 1  Revision & Warming up   1. Greet as usual.   2. Check the homework.   S1 gives a report about what his/her family are doing. Others listen carefully and retell what they are doing.   The teacher can give a model if necessary.   S1:I am Tom. It’s 7 o’clock in the morning now. My family are all at home. My father is watching TV. My mother is cleaning the room. And I am reading a book.   Step 2 Presentation  T:Look at the pictures in 2b. Can you guess what day it is?  S1:Dragon Boat Festival.   T:You are clever. On Dragon Boat Festival,what do we do?   S2:Eat zongzi and watch the boat races.   ...  (New words:race,host,study,state,American,dragon,any,other,young,child,children,miss,wish,delicious,still)  1. Please read all the new words.   2. Translate the words into Chinese.   (1)race 竞赛  (2)host 主人;东道主  (3)study 学习;研究  (4)state 州  (5)American 美国的;美洲的;美国人;美洲人  (6)dragon 龙  (7)child 儿童  (8)any 任何(的),任一(的)  (9)other 另外的;其他的;另外的人(或物)  (10)miss 怀念;思念;错过  (11)wish 希望  (12)delicious 可口的;美味的  (13)still 还;仍然  T:Look at the clocks in 2a and ask your partner about the time in different places.   A:What time is it in Beijing now?   B:It’s 8:00 in the morning.   A:What time is it in Tokyo now?   B:It’s 9:00 in the morning.   (Then practice the time in different places.)  Step 3 Reading  1. Fast reading.   Read the TV report and answer the two questions.   (1)Why are Zhu Hui’s family watching boat races and making zongzi?  Because today is the Dragon Boat Festival.   (2)Does Zhu Hui like his host family? What does he think about his home in China?   Yes,he does. He thinks there’s still “no place like home”.   2. Careful reading.   Ask the students to read the TV report again and match the verbs in column A with the words in column B in 2c. Then use the phrases to write sentences according to the TV report.   Answers:living with a family,reading a story,making food,talking on the phone,studying in the US,watching a race  Zhu Hui is living with a family in New York.   The mother is reading a story to her young children.   Zhu Hui’s mom and aunt are making food.   Zhu Hui is talking on the phone to his cousin in Shenzhen.   Zhu Hui is studying in the US.   Zhu Hui’s dad and uncle are watching a race on TV.   3. Reading aloud.   Let the students read aloud after the tape,and then read by themselves and show the pronunciation.   4. Translate the phrases,and then choose the right phrases to complete the sentences.   (1)live with sb. 和某人住在一起  (2)make zongzi 包粽子  (3)Dragon Boat Festival 端午节  (4)read a story to sb. 给某人读故事  (5)watch...on TV 在电视上看……  (6)miss one’s family 想念某人的家人  (7)wish to do 希望做  (8)one’s host family 某人的寄宿家庭  (9)I often read a story to my younger brothers. They like the story.   (10)My friends often watch soccer games on TV at home.   (11)Tom and Sam really wish to study in Oxford University(牛津大学).   (12)Li Ming is studying in America. The New Year is coming,and he misses his family.   5. Fill in the chart,and then retell 2b according to the chart.   6. Work in groups.   (1)race用于体育话题时,主要指赛车、赛跑、游泳等与速度相关的比赛;而game多指与球类、棋类相关的比赛。  He is the youngest swimmer in the race.   他是这场比赛中最年轻的游泳选手。  Tom likes to watch NBA games on TV.   汤姆喜欢在电视上看NBA比赛。  (2)any other night意为“其他任何一个夜晚”,这里的any表示“任何的;任一的”;any other...表示“任何别 的……;任何其他的……”,其后接单数名词。  Any other classmate in the class can play with you.   班里的其他任何一个同学都可以和你玩。  (3)children是child的复数形式,为不规则变化,意为“儿童,孩子”。  Many children(child)are playing soccer on the playground.   (4)misses为及物动词miss的第三人称单数形式,此处意为“想念,思念”。miss作及物动词还表示“错过”。  Everyone will miss(思念)his family when they don’t meet each other for a long time.   Hurry up,or you’ll miss(错过)the train.   (5)wish意为“希望”,其后常接动词不定式作宾语,构成wish to do sth. 短语。  I wish to go(go)to Beijing one day.   我希望有一天去北京。  Step 4 Writing  1. Work on 3a.   T:Let’s look at a picture of Jim’s family and complete his letter to Bob in 3a.   Answers:are watching TV;is reading a newspaper;is talking on the phone  2. Work on 3b.   Have the students bring some photos or draw some pictures of their family or friends and write a short passage about them.   Help the students to finish the compositions. One possible version:  These are photos of my family. Look! My mother is cooking in the kitchen. My father is reading a newspaper. My grandparents are watching TV in the living room. My brother is playing with his toys. I’m doing my homework.   We are having a good time.   Step 5 Self Check  1. Work on Exercise 1.   Have the students compete to write the most words they can think of in just two minutes. After two minutes the teacher will say,“Stop!”The students with the most words win. Let them read out their word lists.   2. Work on Exercise 2.   Tell the students A and B to talk about what they are doing now. Read the conversation and write questions with the help of the words and phrases in the brackets.   3. Check the answers with the class.   Answers:What are you doing?   Do you want to play soccer?   What’s Tony doing?   Is Steve studying for a test,too?   Step 6 Summary  In this lesson,we have learned:  1.
