Task 1 Learn the new words; ①Teacher shows the sentences about the new words in this unit and some pictures. ②Teacher asks students to fill in the blanks with the new words. ③Check the answers with the whole class. Task 2 Listen and read. ①Ask students to scan the passage. T: How many students are there in this passage? T: Read quickly and tell me who they are? Students answer like this: Ss: Three Ss: David, Lingling, Tony Smith ②Ask students to skim the passage and check (√) the true sentences and then correct the false sentences. ③Play the recording and ask the students to listen and read the passage. ④Ask students to complete the table. ⑤Play the recording again and check the answers. Task 3 ①Teacher explains the language points. ②Teacher shows the important sentences. ③Ask the students to read through the sentences.
