    Point 3 Did you do anything interesting last weekend?上周未你做有超的事情了吗?
    anything interesting意为“有趣的事”,形容词interesting修饰不定代词anything应后置。在句中作后置定语。

    (1)on the first night意为“在头一天夜里”。表示“在具体某一天的上午、下午或晚上等”时间,常用介词on。

    (3)each other意为“互相;彼此”,相当于one another。英语中each other为代词,在及物动词之后可直接用作宾语;而在不及物动词之后,则要借助介词。

    each other可加’s构成所有格each other’s。

    Point 8 But I was so tired that I went to sleep early. 但是我太累了,所以早早就睡着了。
    so..that..意为“如此……以至于……”。so是副词,常常用来修饰形容词或副词,that 引导结果状语从句。
    He is so young that he can’tlook after himf.
    他是如此年轻,以至于他不能照样自己。
    The boy ran so fast that I couldn’t catch up with him.
    这个男孩跑得如此快,以至于我不能赶上他。
    【辨析】so... that…与so that

    so... that…
    意为“如此……以至于……”,so后接形容词或副词,that引导结果状语从句
    She was so busy that she had no time to rest.
    她如此忙,以至于没有时间休息。

    so that
    引导目的状语从句,意为“以便;为了”,从句中常用can/could/may/ should等情态动词
    The little boy saved money so that he could buy his mother a present on Mother’s Day.

    Point 11 We shouted to our parents to let them know about the danger. 我们大声叫喊我们的父母,想让他们知道危险所在。
    (1)shout to sb. 意为“对某人大声喊叫”。
    We shouted to the driver, but she didn’t hear us.
    我们大声向司机喊,但她没听见。
    【辨析】shout to sb.与shout at sb.
    shout to sb.
    一般指因距高过远而不得不大声叫或让别人听见,无感情因素

    (1)start此处作及物动词,意为“开始”,与begin同义。start to do sth.意为“开始做某事”同义短语:start doing sth.。

    We moved away from my grandmother when I was eight years old. I missed her a lot. I was her favorite granddaughter and she was my favorite grandma.
    Two years later my mother and father separated and soon divorced. I felt as if my world was falling apart. I lived with my mother for a time, next door to my grandma and grandpa in an apartment while my father was away during World War II.
