    In Spain,children and their families are riding bikes t schl tgether in large grups. The prgram is called “bicibús”r bike bus. In Barcelna,the prgram started recently with nly five children and grew quickly t hundreds f riders.
    The Eixample bike bus begins arund 8:25 every Friday mrning. The path it will fllw is always psted ahead f time,s everyne knws where t jin. The bicibús starts ff with just a few students and parents,with mre and mre jining as it travels alng.
    Mst kids ride their bikes,but thers ride mtrbikes r use skates. Instead f riding in bike lanes(车道) r n sidewalks,the bicibús takes ver the entire street. With music playing and bike bells ringing,the bicibús feels like a party.
    Being able t ride with a crwd f kids is a big part f the fun. Nine-year-ld Maria Pitarch says,“The best part f the bicibús is that we ride alng and pick up ur friends and we ride tgether.”
    The Eixample bicibús ges t several schls. When students reach their schl,they leave the bus and park their bikes. Sme parents have made the bicibús the way they get t wrk n Friday.
    It was pssible t bike t schl in Eixample befre,but it wasn’t really safe fr kids. There are a few bike lanes,but there are als lts f cars.
    Because ne f the main rads used by the Eixample bicibús is busy,having abut 20,000 cars and mtrcycles every day,the lcal plice are helping stp traffic by riding in frnt f the bicibús and behind it.
    Parents are hping that the bicibús will help change ideas abut hw peple can get arund in the city. They want the city t create wider,kid-friendly bike lanes that are separate frm car traffic. They pint ut that the bicibús als helps cut dwn n pllutin.
