This theme f this perid is t write a dramatic scene. It is difficult t write a play, even a small part f it sunds difficult. Writing a play r drama is quite different frm writing a stry. The main purpse f a play is t let the characters speak fr themselves as much as pssible. Hw actrs shw us what the characters think and feel is als imprtant.
Dramatic language includes actr's r actress' lines and stage directin, which is written at the beginning f each scene and at the end and in the middle f the dialgue. It can enhance the stage atmsphere, enhance the md f the characters, shw the characters' characters, and prmte the develpment f the plt.
1. Get students t have a gd understanding f sme features abut a dramatic scene.
2. Study the rganizatin and language features.
3. Develp students’ writing and cperating abilities.
4. Strengthen students’ great interest in writing drama.

Step 1: Read and answer the fllwing questins.
1. Where des Henry g? What des he want?
2. What d the clerks shw Henry at first? Why?
3 .What makes the peple in the stre change their attitudes twards Henry?
4 .Why wuld the wner be willing t wait fr a lng time t get paid?
5. Is it right t judge peple by their clthes? Why r why nt?
1. He ges t a tailr's shp. He wants new clthes.
2 They shw him ready made clthes, because he lks pr and these clthes are cheaper.
3 They change their attitudes after seeing the millin-pund nte because they think that he is rich.
4 Perhaps he thinks that Henry will cme back and buy a lt mre clthes in the future r tell his wealthy friends abut the shp.
5 N, it's nt right, fr tw reasns. First, everyne has dignity and shuld be treated with the same respect. Secnd, yu cannt judge smene befre yu knw all the facts abut this persn. Dressing well r having a lt f mney desn't mean smene is a nice persn. Smetimes appearances are deceptive.

(He sits in ne f the barber's chairs. The barber turns t lk at Henry.)

H：Yes. I think s.

R：Hey yu there.I need a haircut quickly. Can yu d me straightaway?
B：All right, then, get in the chair and I'll see what I can d.
R：Thank yu. (sits dwn in ne f the barber's chairs)

R：Yu're that Mr Adams! Well，I'm glad I waited r I might never have knwn it was yu.

2nd Clerk：Ready－made suits？Dwnstairs.

1st Clerk：(pulling the 3rd clerk aside and whispering)Mr Reid says yu’d better serve him quick and get him ut quick!

Henry：It’s a little t bright，isn’t it?
