Ⅰ.阅读理解
(2018扬泰地区高三联考)
One of the biggest complaints I hear from people is that their friends just aren’t there for them.More than that, sometimes friends are downright rude or even mean. You can’t change people, but you can surround yourself with more positive people. If someone isn’t treating you well or is only nice to you when he wants something, chances are that he isn’t really your friend. Here are some benefits that spending time with positive friends can provide.
With positive friends, you don’t need to beg for help when you need it because chances are that they will be there for you without asking.Positive individuals want others to be happy, and will go out of their way to help you when you’re feeling down or need some extra special attention. As About.com’s Guide to Stress states,“Ideal friendship provides support when you’re down, fun when you’re up,wisdom when you’re lost.”
Compare that with toxic friends, who might snipe at you or even laugh at you behind your back.Negative people celebrate the downfall of others, and as a result you’ll end up feeling worse about yourself or the situation you’re dealing with.Friends who aren’t positive will add to whatever amount of stress you are feeling.
Your positive friends will not only help you recover from negative hits you take in life, but they will also inspire you to be the best you can be.This means trying new things, achieving goals, and having the kind of life you dreamed of for yourself. Very often people have secret goals that they are ashamed of sharing with people for fear they’ll be teased.
For example, perhaps you always wanted to be a writer.Or you want to go back to school and get your degree. The negative people in your life will probably tell you all the reasons why you won’t succeed. But who needs that?Chances are that you have already gone over the reasons why you might fail and this is what has prevented you from trying. But with positive people in your life, you’ll feel more comfortable sharing these types of goals because your friends will give you the emotional push you need to go after what you want in life.
You naturally attract the kinds of friends who are most like you.So if you’re a downer, you’ll probably find that negative people come to you.The same is true for being positive. The more you are able to maintain a positive attitude, the more like-minded people you’ll attract in return.

A.It is true that everyone is positive in life.
B.If you are positive, you’ll attract positive friends.

How to make good conversation
“Conversation is the most sociable of all human activities.”I totally agree with this point.Conversation is the main part of everyone’s daily life.1. What’s more, good conversation is the most interesting part for us.In my view, you should pay attention to the following three issues to make good conversation.
To start good conversation we’d better prepare some questions.2. We can ask some questions to show our politeness and care for others.Like,do you have a good sleep last night?Or what do you do in your spare time?Think twice before you throw a question to others.
3. We should pay attention to what others said and think in their shoes. Allow the others to do most of the talking.Be patient and hold interest for their comments and make the right noises to show you are listening carefully.4. In this way you will get the credit for being a good conversationalist as well as a good listener and it will help you to make friends with others.
We always said eyes are the windows to the soul.Appropriate eye contact is like a great element of the main dish which makes it more delicious.5. It will help us to improve mutual (相互的) understanding.Do not hesitate to look into them. But don’t stare at them and don’t look at them for too long a time.It would make others feel uneasy and unwilling to go on talking.
A.Good questions make people feel comfortable.
B.Without conversation, life would be as cold as a rock.
C.The most important part of conversation is to listen.
D.Enjoy good conversation and be friends with them.
E.Do not interrupt others when they share their views excitedly.
