An imprtant musical instrument fr the Mia and Dng peples is the lusheng, which is made up f bamb pipes, each with its wn reed. Every year, the Mia hld varius lusheng festivals where peple frm lcal villages will gather wearing traditinal cstumes and shw ff their skills playing the lusheng, with many peple jining in with traditinal dance. The largest f these festivals takes place in Kaili, Guizhu every year in March, and includes ther activities such as bullfighting and hrse racing.

Each Mia subgrup typically wears a different style r clur f daily clthing, which makes it easy fr the Mia t lk at anther Mia. While the men typically wear simple jackets and trusers, n festival days the wmen are famus fr wearing clurful pleated skirts and elabrate silver jewellery, including bracelets, heavy cllars, and large headdresses, smetimes with hrns. This silver jewellery can weigh up t 15 kg. Amng the Mia, silver is cnsidered a sign f wealth, and as smething which will bring gd luck and prtect them frm evil spirits.

They are famus fr their singing, and the Kam Grand Chir (the Grand Sng f the Dng Peple) is listed as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.Zhaxing, Guizhu, the largest Dng minrity twn in China, is cmprised f 11 villages, the largest f which is Zhaxing village, with 4,000 residents. The village has many ld buildings which are representative f traditinal Dng architecture, including five drum twers and many “wind and rain” bridges.
